VCC: The Gary Center, in La Habra, offers more services than meets the eye. They like to set themselves apart from other community clinics with their expert care and robust support programs; their clinicians are board certified and the organization has been in the business of providing care for nearly half a century. The clinic’s newest addition to their Family Medicine Department, Dr. Duy Duc Nguyen, can provide a wide range of medical care to adults and children of all ages, and now he’s starting to see patients with another ailment – Hepatitis C.
For many patients with Hep C this means getting access to the kind of care they’ve been waiting for. Going without treatment can lead to devastating effects, including cirrhosis of the liver and even liver cancer, both potentially life threatening conditions. The clinic is excited to now be able to offer this treatment to its patients. Dr. Nguyen, who has spent his career devoted to improving the health and wellness of those most underserved, will now be able to help treat a whole new group of patients. His goal is to make sure that all of his patients have the tools they need to get and stay healthy through proper care and education saying, “I help patients realize that despite having significant social determinants of health stacked against them, they still have the power to prevent disease instead of treating it.”
Existing patients and community members are encouraged to visit the clinic or call or text them at 562.264.6000 to make an appointment or learn more. VCC: The Gary Center is located at 201 S. Harbor Boulevard in La Habra.
