Buena Park, California
- The City is holding its final workshop for the Buena Park-OC Loop Bike Trail Connection Study on February 19, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Buena Park Community Center, 6688 Beach Blvd., Buena Park.
The feasibility study, underway since summer 2019, explores three potential routes connecting bike/pedestrian paths along Malvern Avenue to the Buena Park Metrolink Station, existing and future segments of the County’s 66-mile OC Loop bike trail, and destinations in between. This project builds upon a study conducted by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) in 2012 that identified closing an east-west gap in connectivity near the Buena Park Metrolink Station as a regional commuter bikeway priority.
At the workshop, participants can expect to see the three routes identified earlier in the process presented with designs for proposed facilities such as improved crosswalks and bike lanes. The City’s technical consultant, Kittelson & Associates, will be on hand to discuss design details and answer any questions from the public. Comments received at the final workshop will help solidify the designs, which the City will use in potential future phases.
The study is funded in part by a grant from the California Department of Transportation. For more information, please visit www.buenapark.com/biketrails.
