The Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) is hosting its 2019 Water Awareness Poster Contest. The Contest provides an opportunity for children and young adults to learn about the importance of water while using art to express their ideas.

Through the Poster Contest, Orange County students in grades Kindergarten through 12 are encouraged to submit hand-drawn posters. All artwork should reflect this year’s contest theme: Water Is Life. This theme was chosen to get students thinking about our most valuable natural resource – water – and how vital it is for our way of life. Entries for both contests are due April 5, 2019. Free paper is available upon request.

A total of 40 winners will be selected in the Poster Contest. One grand prize winner in grades K - 2nd, 3rd – 5th, 6th – 8th, and 9th – 12th, will receive an iPad Mini. Additionally, teachers who submit their students’ artwork as a batch will be entered in a drawing for a class pizza party with Ricki the Rambunctious Raindrop. All 40 winners – and their parents and teachers – will be invited to attend a special Awards Ceremony with Ricki Raindrop at Discovery Science Center.
