  • Governor Vetoes Job Killer Bill Threatening State's Water Reliability

    Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed job killer legislation on Friday that threatened California’s water supply, and would have created regulatory uncertainty and litigation.

    “SB 1 posed a major threat to California’s water supply and reliability, and the Governor has shown outstanding leadership in announcing his veto of this measure,” said California Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Allan Zaremberg.

    In his veto letter, Newsom underscored his commitment to safeguarding California’s natural resources and environmental protections. “While I disagree about the efficacy and necessity of Senate Bill 1, I look forward to working with the Legislature in our shared fight against the weakening of California’s environmental and worker protections,” he stated.
