  • COVID-19 Update from The City of Stanton

    Please be advised that City Hall and all City facilities are now closed to the public. Essential services related to meals and social services will be available on a limited basis. Please contact Community Services for detailed information about access to specific resources at (714) 379-9222 or via email communityservices@ci.stanton.ca.us.

    In response to Governor Gavin Newsom’s direction regarding COVID-19, the City of Stanton has closed all City facilities out of concern for public health and safety. Please be patient as we work through this challenging time together.

    Community health and safety is a top priority for us and we will work to provide timely updates as they become available.

    THE FOLLOWING ARE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC:

    • Family Resource Center
    • Stanton Central Park
    • Dotson Park

    Impact to City Programs

    Effective immediately the following Community Services Programs and Activities are canceled through March 31, 2020.

    • Youth Sports and Youth Sports Groups 
    • Youth and Adult Recreation Classes
    • Facility Rentals
    • Congregate Senior Lunch Program (Home Delivered Meals will Continue)
    • Daily Senior Classes and Activities 
    • Excursions
    • Communal Food Distribution Programs
    • Women of Distinction Awards – March 24
    • Easter Egg Hunts and Resource Fair – April 11

    Refunds for programs for which registration has taken place will be refunded/prorated accordingly.  If you wish to receive a credit for future registration, please send an email to communityservices@ci.stanton.ca.us.

    Cancellation of Commission and Committee Meetings

    Public meetings including those for Commissions and Committees that are non-essential will be postponed until further notice. Special meetings may be convened on a limited basis to address essential city business that cannot be deferred during this period. Planning Commission meetings are considered essential business until further notice.

    Modified City Council Meetings

    The City Council meeting scheduled for March 24, 2020, will take place in the City Council Chambers. However, the City is encouraging the public to participate via teleconference instead of attending in person to help mitigate risk, especially for high risk populations.
